Health System Program That Guarantees Doing Things Right the First Time, for Flat Fee, Pays Off.

Here is yet another example that doctors and lawyers are on the same trajectory. I particularly liked this line:

“Most hospitals are also skeptical of Geisinger’s innovation, saying they would lose money by being unable to bill for treatment of patients who must return.”

Which of course completely, and perhaps deliberately, misses the point. You don’t bill for what you don’t do, because you shouldn’t have to do it in the first place. You make your money on the things you actually do, and which the patient/client actually needs and benefits from.

I see a lot of parallels between this and the DuPont Legal Model.
