Jeff, you are quite welcome and I am sure people will find it enlightening. You in particular might want to listen to Mr. Kaplan’s interview, which posts later today. He takes issue with some of what you said about training lawyers on negotiation in law school – a course he teaches!
I will. But remember, I didn’t say that there aren’t classes on negotiation in law school. I said that it wasn’t a required part of the curriculum. As such, not all students take it – and those that don’t aren’t prohibited from doing negotiations later without any formal training.
I am glad to learn from others that negotiation (and other forms of ADR) are being taught – and in some cases, significantly pressed upon the students – in law schools around the country.
